Boston Dynamics Unveils Redesigned Hands for Atlas Robot
The new hands feature advanced sensors and improved functionality.
Boston Dynamics has introduced redesigned hands for its Atlas robot, now equipped with 13 degrees of freedom and dense tactile pressure sensors. This enhancement enables Atlas to effectively utilize real-world tools, as demonstrated in a recent video where it operates a drill.
Additionally, the company has removed the pinky finger from the design to lower costs, reduce size, and minimize potential failure points.
